Nara Lokesh Pitches Andhra at SPIEF Amid Drone Strikes

Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Minister Nara Lokesh pitched the state as a prime investment destination at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), even as drone strikes disrupted parts of the Russian city. Addressing the forum, Lokesh recalled the historic partnership between India and Russia that began with the satellite Aryabhata in 1975 and expressed readiness for the next phase of cooperation in space and technology.

Andhra Pradesh Only Indian State Delegation at SPIEF

Andhra Pradesh emerged as the only state delegation from India at SPIEF, underscoring its proactive approach to attracting foreign investment. Lokesh highlighted the state's strengths in IT, electronics manufacturing, and renewable energy, inviting Russian companies to explore opportunities in Andhra's industrial corridors and ports.

Amid Geopolitical Tensions, Lokesh Stresses Continuity

The minister's pitch came against the backdrop of drone strikes in St Petersburg, which have raised security concerns. However, Lokesh emphasized the enduring nature of India-Russia ties, stating that the partnership transcended short-term disruptions. He noted that the collaboration, which began with the launch of Aryabhata, India's first satellite, is now poised to reach new heights in areas such as satellite navigation, space exploration, and digital infrastructure.
