UTTARKASHI: The Forest Department and local administration have initiated a comprehensive search operation following reports of a female tourist going missing in the Dayara Bugyal region, a renowned tourist destination in the district. The operation involves multiple teams combing through the area to locate the missing individual.

Details of the Incident

According to official reports, Babita Pandey (30), a resident of Nainital district, embarked on the Dayara Bugyal trek from Raithal village on Friday accompanied by two friends. During the trek, she became separated from her group and has not been traced since. Her friends alerted authorities after she failed to rejoin them.

Search Operation Underway

The Forest Department received information regarding the woman's disappearance on Saturday, prompting the concerned departments to launch a search campaign in the area. The search for the tourist is currently being conducted across Dayara Bugyal and the surrounding forests. Rescue teams are utilizing local guides and advanced equipment to cover the challenging terrain.
