Trichy: Two individuals sustained injuries after a tree collapsed onto a moving car and a motorcycle amidst strong gusty winds on Wednesday. The incident took place on Royal Road at approximately 4:30 pm. The car's bonnet and windshield were damaged in the mishap. The motorcyclist and one of the two passengers inside the car suffered injuries. Bystanders promptly rescued them and transported them to a hospital for medical attention. Vehicular movement was disrupted for about half an hour. A seven-member team from the Cantonment Fire and Rescue Services station arrived at the scene, cut the tree using hacksaws, and cleared the debris, restoring normalcy.
