United States Ambassador to Pakistan Natalie Baker has stated that President Donald Trump placed an 'extraordinary trust' in Pakistan's Army Chief General Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, crediting them for the recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Speaking at an event in Islamabad, Baker emphasized that the truce was a significant diplomatic achievement facilitated by the leadership of both countries.
US Envoy Highlights Trust in Pakistani Leadership
Baker remarked that the ceasefire agreement, which has brought a halt to hostilities along the Line of Control, was possible due to the personal involvement and credibility of General Munir and PM Sharif. 'President Trump has extraordinary trust in both General Munir and Prime Minister Sharif. Their commitment to peace and stability in the region played a pivotal role in achieving this truce,' she said.
The ambassador also reiterated the mutual benefits of a strong bilateral relationship, stating, 'A strong Pakistan is good for America, and a strong America is good for Pakistan.'
