Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh delivered an impressive performance at the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme Awards ceremony held in Delhi. The state was honoured in several key categories for its notable achievements in solar energy. Uttar Pradesh stood first in the country in the high consumer base category for the highest number of consumer applications (1,02,035), the highest number of solar installations (64,734), and the highest vendor registrations (779). Additionally, the state came second in the category of DISCOM inspections. Furthermore, Lucknow district ranked first in the country for total rooftop installations.
Massive Solar Expansion Under the Scheme
Under the Prime Minister Surya Ghar scheme, more than 5.64 lakh rooftop solar plants have been installed in Uttar Pradesh so far, making the state one of the leading solar energy states in the country. This achievement underscores the state's commitment to renewable energy and sustainable development.
