A tragic incident occurred near Sathyamangalam in Erode district on Wednesday night when a wild elephant trampled a construction worker to death. The deceased has been identified as M Basavaraj, a 40-year-old resident of Kuthiyalathur village near Kadambur.

Details of the Incident

According to an officer at the Kadambur police station, the elephant attacked Basavaraj around 9 pm while he was returning home on a two-wheeler after work. The attack was sudden and fatal, causing him to die on the spot. The body was subsequently sent to Sathyamangalam Government Hospital for postmortem examination.

Victim's Family

Basavaraj is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter. The family is in shock and mourning the sudden loss of their loved one. The Kadambur police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
