Andhra Pradesh Temperature Rise, Fog Disrupts Traffic

Andhra Pradesh Gets Brief Respite from Cold as Temperatures Edge Up

People across Andhra Pradesh experienced a slight break from the intense cold on Tuesday, January 13. Minimum temperatures climbed a bit in several parts of the state, according to weather observations. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts this pattern will continue for the next four days in both Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

Warmer Readings in Alluri Sitharama Raju District

In Alluri Sitharama Raju district, most locations recorded temperatures above 10 degrees Celsius. This marks a noticeable change from earlier in January, when many areas in the district saw lows between 5 and 8 degrees. The Regional Agriculture Research Station at Chintapalle reported a minimum of 12 degrees on Tuesday. Other spots in the district ranged from 13 to 18 degrees.

Fog Still Causes Major Morning Disruptions

Despite the slight warming trend, dense fog continues to create problems. Vehicular traffic faces significant disruptions during the early morning hours. Residents in Paderu and surrounding areas say the cold and foggy conditions keep them indoors until late morning. The fog has not lifted despite the minor temperature increase.

Temperature Variations Across the State

Kalingapatnam in Srikakulam district recorded the state's lowest temperature at 15 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, other regions reported minimums between 19 and 22 degrees. These readings are nearly 2 to 4 degrees above the normal range for this time of year.

Weather Outlook for the Coming Days

The IMD forecasts dry weather over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema for the next four days. Isolated pockets may experience fog or mist. A partly cloudy sky with morning haze is expected. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to stay around 31 degrees and 21 degrees respectively for the next three days.
