Bird Festival Launched at Alwar's Siliserh Lake Ramsar Site

Annual Bird Festival Inaugurated at Alwar's Newly Designated Ramsar Site

In a significant event for wildlife conservation, the newly designated Ramsar site of Siliserh Lake in Alwar district witnessed the launch of an annual bird festival on Saturday. The festival was inaugurated by Union Forest Minister and Alwar MP Bhupender Yadav, alongside Rajasthan Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma. This initiative marks a commitment to celebrating and preserving the rich avian biodiversity of the region.

Educational Experience for School Children

At the festival, school children had a unique opportunity to observe a variety of bird species through binoculars. They spotted notable birds such as the Surkhab (Ruddy Shelduck), Brahminy Duck, and owls, among many native and foreign species. The event provided educational insights into more than 200 bird species that frequent Siliserh Lake, enhancing awareness about local wildlife.

Minister's Emphasis on Harmony with Nature

During the inauguration, Union Minister Bhupender Yadav delivered a poignant message on the importance of nature conservation. He stated, "Humans can go to the moon, but cannot create a small bird. We can operate machines, but cannot bring life to them. Only nature gives precious life, and we should live in harmony with it." This statement underscored the festival's goal of fostering a deeper connection between communities and their natural environment.
