Chhattisgarh Braces for Rising Temperatures and Heatwave Conditions

Residents of Chhattisgarh are advised to prepare for a significant increase in temperatures over the coming days, as meteorological conditions point toward a warming trend across the state. According to the latest forecasts, hot and dry northwesterly winds are expected to drive maximum temperatures upward, potentially leading to heatwave or heatwave-like conditions in central regions starting today.

Meteorological Systems Influencing Weather Patterns

The current weather dynamics are shaped by several key atmospheric systems. A cyclonic circulation persists over northeast Bihar and adjoining areas, extending up to 1.5 kilometers above mean sea level. Simultaneously, an east-west trough stretches from northeast Uttar Pradesh to Manipur at an altitude of approximately 0.9 kilometers.

Additionally, a north-south trough runs from northeast Bihar to south Tamil Nadu, passing directly through Chhattisgarh at a similar height. This combination of systems is significantly influencing regional weather patterns, contributing to the anticipated temperature rise.

Expected Temperature Increases and Regional Variations

Under the combined impact of these meteorological features and prevailing dry winds, maximum temperatures in most districts of Chhattisgarh are projected to rise by about 3°C over the next two days. The meteorological department has indicated that temperatures across the state could increase by 3 to 5°C over the next four days.

However, there will be regional variations. Districts within the Bastar division may experience relatively lesser impact from this warming trend, while central parts of Chhattisgarh are likely to witness more pronounced effects.

Heatwave Conditions and Safety Precautions

From April 15 onwards, central regions of Chhattisgarh are expected to face heatwave or near-heatwave conditions. This development necessitates heightened caution, particularly during peak daytime hours when temperatures are at their highest.

"Temperatures across Chhattisgarh are likely to rise by 3 to 5°C over the next four days, according to the meteorological department. This may lead to heat wave conditions in several areas," confirmed local weather officials.

Current Weather Status and Recent Records

Currently, the weather remains dry across Chhattisgarh with no active weather systems causing precipitation. Recent temperature records highlight the existing warmth, with Rajnandgaon recording the highest temperature at 42°C, while Ambikapur registered the lowest minimum temperature at 18.2°C.

As these conditions evolve, residents are urged to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary precautions to protect against heat-related health risks.
