The project moved forward on Thursday with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the DPCC and the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC). Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa hailed the initiative as a "major institutional initiative towards making Delhi pollution-free." He elaborated that the new headquarters would be equipped with new technology and better monitoring capabilities, providing a substantial boost to the city's environmental conservation efforts.

The need for a dedicated, adequate space has been a pressing issue for the DPCC. Currently, the committee functions from its offices located in Shastri Park and Kashmere Gate.
