In a tragic incident, an elderly woman who had been reported missing from her home was discovered dead in the Manampally forest range of the Anaimalai Tiger Reserve on Sunday. The body was found partially consumed by an unidentified carnivorous animal, raising concerns about human-animal conflicts in the region.

The deceased has been identified as A Innasiyammal, a 76-year-old resident of Sholayar Nagar, located near the reserve. According to officials, Innasiyammal was physically frail and suffered from mobility issues due to her advanced age, which may have contributed to the circumstances of her disappearance.
The incident unfolded after her family reported her missing on Saturday night, prompting immediate action from authorities. Upon receiving the alert, the human-animal conflict prevention team of the Manampally forest range initiated an intensive search operation in the surrounding forest area. On Sunday morning, search teams successfully located her remains approximately 100 meters from her residence.
