Gujarat Braces for Significant Temperature Increase Over Next Two Days
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a weather forecast on Tuesday indicating that maximum temperatures across the state of Gujarat are expected to rise by two to three degrees Celsius within the next 48 hours. This prediction comes as the region already experiences elevated temperatures, with no major changes anticipated for minimum temperatures during this period.
Ahmedabad Records Above-Normal Temperatures
In Ahmedabad city, Tuesday's maximum temperature reached 38°C, which is 4.2°C higher than the normal seasonal average. The minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 20.9°C, representing a 3.4-degree increase above normal levels. According to the IMD forecast, temperatures on Wednesday are likely to remain within this elevated range, maintaining the warmer-than-usual conditions.
Coastal Regions Face Additional Weather Challenges
The meteorological forecast also highlighted the likelihood of hot and humid conditions developing in coastal areas of Saurashtra and Kutch from March 4 to 6. These conditions are expected to create additional discomfort for residents in these regions as temperatures climb across the state.
Statewide Temperature Records
Deesa recorded the highest maximum temperature in Gujarat on Tuesday, with the mercury reaching 38.4°C. This reading underscores the broader warming trend affecting multiple regions within the state as the IMD's forecast suggests continued temperature escalation over the coming days.
The India Meteorological Department continues to monitor weather patterns across Gujarat, providing regular updates as conditions evolve. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions against the rising temperatures and potential humidity in coastal areas during this period of elevated thermal activity.
