Gujarat Weather Update: Naliya Stays Coldest at 6°C, Surat Hottest at 32.8°C
Naliya remained the coldest place in Gujarat on Monday. The town recorded a minimum temperature of 6 degrees Celsius. This marked a slight rise from Sunday's season's lowest of 3.8°C. That earlier chill had sent sharp cold waves across the Kutch region.
Cold Spots Across the State
Bhuj followed Naliya as the second coldest location. The Kutch district headquarter recorded a minimum of 8.6°C. Other colder spots included Amreli at 9.7°C, Rajkot at 10.3°C, and Dang at 11.4°C.
Day temperatures showed a mixed trend across Gujarat. Surat emerged as the hottest city with a maximum of 32.8°C. The forested and hilly district of Dang recorded 32.1°C. This made it the second highest daytime temperature in the state. Dang's warm days contrasted with its cooler nights.
IMD Reports Cold Winds
The India Meteorological Department issued a weather bulletin. It stated that northeasterly to easterly winds are prevailing at lower levels. These winds are bringing cold air across the region.
Vadodara and Daman both touched 31.8°C during the day. Veraval logged a maximum temperature of 31.6°C.
Warmer Nights in Central Gujarat
Ahmedabad recorded specific temperature readings. The city saw a maximum of 28.7°C and a minimum of 14.8°C. Both figures are above normal for this time of year. This indicates slightly warmer nights in central parts of Gujarat.
Coastal towns showed interesting temperature patterns. In the picturesque town of Diu, the minimum temperature shot up by 4.4°C. It settled at 16.5°C. Veraval recorded 18.4°C, while Okha reported 17.3°C. These locations continue to experience relatively higher minimum temperatures. The moderating influence of the sea keeps nights warmer in these coastal areas.
