Indore Braces for a Week of Clear, Dry Weather with Rising Temperatures
According to meteorologists, the city of Indore is likely to experience a prolonged spell of clear and dry weather over the coming week. Temperatures are expected to remain on the higher side, with little significant change anticipated in the next few days. This forecast comes as the region transitions into an early summer-like phase.
Recent Temperature Trends and Data
Data from the Meteorological Centre at the airport revealed that Sunday's maximum temperature reached 35.8°C, which is 3°C above the normal seasonal average. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature settled at 14.2°C, slightly below the typical mark for this time of year. By 5:30 PM, the temperature was recorded at 34.2°C, highlighting the intense afternoon heat under clear skies.
Over the past week, Indore has already witnessed a sharp increase in temperatures. Daytime readings surged by more than 5°C, while nighttime temperatures rose by over 4°C, bringing an early feel of summer to the city. Notably, on Saturday, the maximum temperature crossed the 36°C mark for the first time this season, peaking at 36.2°C.
Meteorological Insights and Forecast Details
Meteorologist Dr. Divya Surendran explained that the core of the tropical western stream has shifted northwards and is currently positioned over Kashmir. A new western disturbance is expected to affect the western Himalayan region starting March 9. However, this disturbance is unlikely to have any significant impact on weather conditions in Indore and its surrounding areas.
"For the coming 7 days, mainly clear skies with dry conditions will prevail in the region. Over the next 5 days, no weather warnings were issued and maximum temperatures are expected to remain fairly steady," Dr. Surendran stated.
Extended Outlook and Temperature Projections
Experts note that temperatures may continue to remain elevated until around March 14, with the mercury likely to approach 38°C. A gradual decline in temperature is expected from March 15 onwards, driven by the influence of northern winds and possible cloud cover. During this period, daytime temperatures may dip below 33°C before rising again towards the end of March.
This weather pattern underscores the region's shift towards warmer conditions, with residents advised to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions against the heat. The clear skies and dry weather are set to dominate, offering little relief from the rising temperatures in the immediate future.
