The biting cold wave that has chilled Lucknow during evenings and nights is finally set to ease. Residents can expect relief starting from Thursday as minimum temperatures climb a few degrees higher.
Gradual Warming on the Way
Senior scientist Mohammad Danish from the state Met department confirmed the change. He attributed the shift to a western disturbance influencing the region.
"There will be a gradual increase in minimum temperatures in Lucknow and UP from Thursday," Danish stated. He explained that two successive western disturbances will drive this warming trend.
Temperature Forecast and Daily Conditions
On Wednesday, Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 21.5 degrees Celsius. The minimum was a chilly 6.1 degrees. For Thursday, the forecast predicts similar highs around 21 degrees. Lows should hover near 6 degrees Celsius.
The daytime weather, described as 'warm' this week due to bright sunshine, will continue. Mornings may start with moderate fog, but the sky will clear later. This will lead to pleasant conditions during the day.
Key Weather Changes:- Cold wave conditions abate from Thursday.
- Minimum temperatures to rise gradually.
- Daytime warmth persists with clear skies.
- Morning fog will dissipate, improving visibility.
Broader Impact Across Uttar Pradesh
The warming trend is not limited to Lucknow. Danish expects a gradual increase of 4 to 6 degrees Celsius in minimum temperatures across Uttar Pradesh over the next five to six days.
Most of the state will experience dry weather. However, isolated areas in western and eastern UP might see dense to very dense fog. The weather office also predicts light rain and drizzle in western UP on January 19. Eastern parts of the state will remain dry.
This shift marks a welcome break from the intense cold. Lucknow's residents can look forward to more comfortable nights and clearer days ahead.
