Madhya Pradesh Weather Update: Fog and Rainfall Across Multiple Districts
The India Meteorological Department has issued a detailed weather forecast for Madhya Pradesh, indicating varied conditions across the state. While the capital city of Bhopal is likely to experience fog during the early morning hours, significant rainfall is expected in isolated parts of 15 districts on Tuesday.
Weather Conditions in Bhopal and Across the State
In Bhopal, residents can expect partly cloudy skies with the possibility of fog formation during the early morning period. This comes as weather officials monitor western disturbance-related activity that continues to influence various regions of Madhya Pradesh.
Met officials have confirmed that there has been no significant change in minimum temperatures across the state during the last 24 hours. However, temperature anomalies have been recorded in several divisions:
- Minimum temperatures were above normal by 1.7 to 2.5 degrees in districts of Indore, Rewa, and Jabalpur divisions
- Appreciably above normal by 3.1 to 4.3 degrees in districts of Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Gwalior, Shahdol, and Sagar divisions
- Markedly above normal by 5.1 degrees in districts of Ujjain and Chambal divisions
Rainfall and Thunderstorm Forecast
According to the weather forecast for February 3, isolated rainfall is likely in the following districts:
- Morena
- Bhind
- Gwalior
- Sheopur
- Shivpuri
- Guna
- Ashok Nagar
- Vidisha
- Rajgarh
- Agar Malwa
- Niwari
- Tikamgarh
- Chhattarpur
- Sagar
- Damoh
- Panna
- Satna
- Rewa
- Mauganj
In addition to rainfall, thunderstorm activity accompanied by lightning may occur at isolated places in Vidisha, Rajgarh, Agar Malwa, Guna, Ashok Nagar, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Rewa, Satna, Damoh, and Sagar districts.
Fog Conditions and Temperature Variations
Weather officials have also warned about moderate fog likely at isolated places in Gwalior, Bhind, Datia, Morena, Panna, Chhattarpur, Tikamgarh, and Niwari on Tuesday.
During the last 24 hours, rainfall was recorded at isolated places in Ujjain, Gwalior, Chambal, and Sagar divisions, while the remaining divisions remained dry. Maximum temperatures rose appreciably by 2.1 to 2.2 degrees in districts of Bhopal, Gwalior, and Chambal divisions, with no significant change recorded in other parts of the state.
The maximum temperature in Bhopal on Monday was recorded at 28 degrees Celsius, which is approximately 1.2 degrees lower than Sunday's reading of 29.2 degrees Celsius. Met officials continue to closely monitor weather conditions as western disturbance-related activity persists across parts of Madhya Pradesh.
