Rajasthan Cold Wave Intensifies: 6th Day of Sub-Zero Chill Grips State
Rajasthan Cold Wave Continues for 6th Day, Dausa at 3.5°C

A relentless cold wave has tightened its grip on Rajasthan, marking its sixth consecutive day of severe conditions on Saturday. With temperatures plummeting well below seasonal averages across the state, residents are facing a harsh battle against the biting cold, particularly during the early morning and late-night hours. The India Meteorological Department reports no immediate respite from the frigid conditions.

Key Districts Record Alarming Lows

The meteorological data paints a stark picture of the widespread chill. Dausa emerged as the coldest place in Rajasthan, recording a minimum temperature of 3.5 degrees Celsius. It was closely followed by Alwar at 3.6°C and Sriganganagar at 3.9°C. The cold spell is extensive, affecting numerous districts with severe intensity.

Other notable minimum temperatures include Nagaur at 4.2°C, Fatehpur at 4.4°C, Jaisalmer at 4.5°C, Lunkaransar at 4.6°C, and the hill station of Mount Abu at 4.8°C. In a significant indicator of the cold wave's severity, not a single location in the entire state recorded a minimum temperature of 10°C or above.

Jaipur's Chilly Struggle

The state capital, Jaipur, experienced another intensely cold morning. The minimum temperature settled at 7.6 degrees Celsius, while the maximum reached 21.9°C under partially cloudy skies. This comes just days after the city witnessed its coldest morning of the season earlier this week, when the mercury dipped to a chilling 4.4°C.

Impact and Outlook

The prolonged cold wave has significantly disrupted daily life. People, especially the vulnerable and homeless, are struggling to cope. The absence of any forecast for immediate warming suggests the tough conditions will continue. Authorities and citizens are advised to take necessary precautions against the cold, including wearing adequate warm clothing and ensuring proper shelter during peak cold hours.

This extended period of below-normal temperatures highlights the intense winter phase currently active over North-West India, with Rajasthan bearing a substantial brunt of the freeze.
