Ranchi Film Festival Sparks Climate Dialogue Through Indigenous Stories
The CMS Vatavaran Travelling Film Festival transformed Ranchi's Audrey House into a hub of environmental consciousness, screening hard-hitting documentaries that vividly documented the realities of climate change, indigenous traditions, and the profound human cost of unchecked development. Governor Emphasizes Roots and Renewal
Inaugurating the festival, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar highlighted the deep relevance of the theme, "Roots & Renewal: Indigenous Knowledge, Youth Voices, Planetary Stewardship." He stressed that by staying connected to our cultural and environmental roots, we can effectively safeguard the planet's future. "Environmental protection must become a mass movement," Gangwar asserted, urging collective action. He further emphasized the transformative power of visual storytelling, noting, "Films are not just entertainment; they are powerful instruments that can shape thought and direction."

The screenings attracted a significant turnout of students and young viewers, who actively engaged with the narratives, reflecting a growing interest in ecological issues among the younger generation.
