UAE's Saqr Humanitarian Ship Arrives at Al Arish Port with Massive Aid for Gaza
In a significant humanitarian gesture, the Saqr Humanitarian Ship has docked at Al Arish Port in the Arab Republic of Egypt, transporting more than 4,000 tonnes of essential aid destined for the Gaza Strip. This shipment is a key component of the United Arab Emirates' ongoing relief efforts under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, aimed at supporting the brotherly Palestinian people during times of crisis.
Comprehensive Aid Package to Alleviate Suffering
The cargo aboard the ship includes a wide array of critical supplies designed to address urgent needs. Food items, such as dates and other consumables, form a substantial part of the load, ensuring nutritional support for vulnerable populations. Additionally, shelter materials like winter clothing and basic living necessities are provided to help civilians cope with harsh conditions.
Medical support is also a priority, with the shipment containing medicines, medical consumables, and equipment to bolster healthcare services in Gaza. These resources are particularly targeted at alleviating the suffering of children, women, and the elderly, who are often the most affected in humanitarian emergencies.
Official Statements Highlight UAE's Humanitarian Commitment
Ahmed Rashid Al Zaabi, Secretary-General of the Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Charity and Humanitarian Foundation, emphasized the symbolic nature of this delivery. He stated, "Today, we welcome the Saqr Humanitarian Ship -- a vessel filled with love, generosity, and brotherhood -- carrying more than 4,000 tonnes of consumable goods, medical supplies, medicines, food items, and dates. This shipment is a gift from the UAE to our brothers in the Gaza Strip on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan."
Upon arrival, the UAE Humanitarian Aid Team promptly began unloading the relief supplies at Al Arish Port. The aid is being transferred to a UAE humanitarian logistics centre in Al Arish, where it will be coordinated for entry into Gaza in collaboration with relevant official authorities and humanitarian partners.
Continuous Efforts and International Recognition
Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, praised the dedicated work of the UAE Humanitarian Aid Team stationed in Al Arish. He affirmed that these efforts reflect the UAE's deeply rooted humanitarian values and its steadfast commitment to supporting the Palestinian people.
This aid ship marks the 12th relief vessel dispatched by the UAE to Gaza under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, reinforcing the country's consistent humanitarian approach in extending assistance to communities affected by crises worldwide. The operation underscores the UAE's role as a key player in global humanitarian initiatives, particularly in conflict-ridden regions like Gaza.
