12-Year-Old Boy Murdered in Locked House in Sitapur

A 12-year-old boy was discovered murdered under suspicious circumstances inside a locked house in Shahri Sarai village of Sitapur, police confirmed on Saturday. The blood-soaked body was recovered from beneath a bed, authorities said, adding that the primary suspect was detained late Friday night and is currently being interrogated.

Incident Details

The victim, a Class IV student, went missing around 5 pm on Friday after leaving his home, according to his family's statement to police. Relatives searched for him throughout the evening but were unable to locate him.

On Saturday morning, some family members reached a neighboring locked house belonging to a relative and entered through the rooftop. Inside one of the rooms, they found the boy's body lying under a bed in a pool of blood.

Evidence of Concealment

Family members alleged that two boxes had been deliberately placed in front of the bed in an apparent attempt to conceal the body. The child was found with severe injury marks around the neck, indicating a violent assault, police said.

Suspect and Investigation

In his complaint, the victim's father expressed suspicion against a youth named Mudassir, who was allegedly present in the house around the time of the incident. According to the complaint, the accused allegedly locked the house and fled after committing the crime.

Police stated that an FIR has been registered and the body has been sent for postmortem examination. Further investigation is underway.
