The Indian Army successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt in the Krishna Ghati (KG) sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Tuesday, neutralizing one terrorist along the Line of Control (LoC), officials confirmed.
Operation Details
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, troops observed suspicious movements approximately 300 meters inside Indian territory around 4 pm during continuous surveillance operations, an official stated. The security forces engaged the intruder, resulting in his elimination and ensuring no breach of the LoC occurred. Search operations are ongoing to confirm that no other infiltrators remain hidden in the area.
“One intruder has been neutralised. Troops continue to dominate the area and maintain a high state of operational readiness. White Knight stands vigilant -- every infiltration bid will fail,” a spokesperson for the Army’s White Knight Corps posted.
Recent Infiltration Attempts
Tuesday's operation is part of a series of thwarted infiltration attempts in the Jammu region over recent months. On March 10, troops killed a Pakistani terrorist and injured another during a gun battle along the LoC in the Jhangar area of Rajouri. The slain individual was identified as Hamza Yousaf, an operative of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT). An AK-47 rifle and ammunition were recovered from the site.
Earlier, on March 4, the Army foiled an infiltration attempt along the LoC in the Bhimber Gali (BG) sector of Poonch, followed by another bid in the Sunderbani sector of Rajouri on February 19. On December 12 last year, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel arrested Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist Abdul Khaliq with a large cache of arms during an infiltration attempt in Jammu's Akhnoor area. Khaliq, a resident of Rajouri, had crossed into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in 2021 for arms training and later returned to recruit youths in Rajouri and Poonch.
