Bihar youth dies after falling from train in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur: The body of a youth from Bihar was discovered near a railway track adjacent to the Garhwa railway crossing on Monday morning. The deceased has been identified as Ranjan Rai (24), a resident of Harishankarpur Hasim Chak in the Dalsinghsarai area of Samastipur district.

According to police, Ranjan was traveling from Samastipur to Ludhiana for work and is believed to have died after falling from a moving train. A gateman spotted the body around 7 a.m. and raised an alarm. Upon receiving information, Pipraich police arrived at the scene and initiated efforts to establish his identity. Authorities also recovered an Aadhaar card, a mobile phone, and a train ticket from the location.

Police reported that the mobile phone was damaged. After inserting the SIM card into another handset, officers received a call from his mother, which helped confirm his identity. SP North Gyanendra stated that severe injuries were found on the youth's head and chest. "Prima facie, it appears to be a case of falling from a train. The exact cause of death will be clear after the postmortem report," he said.
