GTU Postpones May 28 Exam After Gujarat Declares Eid Holiday
GTU Postpones May 28 Exam After Eid Holiday Announcement

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has postponed the examination scheduled for May 28 after the state government declared a public holiday on account of Eid-ul-Zuha. The university said it will announce a revised date for the examination at a later stage.

Background of the Schedule Change

Earlier, the state government had declared May 27 as a public holiday for Eid-ul-Zuha, and accordingly, GTU scheduled its ongoing diploma Semester-4 examinations. The exam originally planned for May 27 was then shifted to May 28. However, following fresh representations from diploma college associations and various groups, the government later revised the holiday to May 28.

Impact on Examination Schedule

After this change, GTU postponed the examination that was planned for that day. University officials said the exam will now be conducted on an alternative date, most likely on a vacant day within the ongoing examination schedule. The diploma Semester-4 examinations are currently underway across affiliated colleges. Students and institutions had raised concerns about holding exams on a public holiday, prompting authorities to reconsider the schedule.
