A Hezbollah explosive device killed an Israeli soldier and wounded seven others, including senior officers, during a military operation near the Litani River in southern Lebanon, the Israeli military confirmed.

The deceased soldier was identified as Master Sgt. (res.) Alexander Filin, 29, from Haifa. An initial probe by the Israel Defense Forces suggests the blast was caused by a Hezbollah device, though the investigation remains ongoing.
