Details of the Incident
According to police reports, Dilip, a resident of Barisakhi (Mayadih) village, was returning home with his wife and daughter when the accident occurred near the Hanuman temple at Brahmpur Mor, under the Giddhaur police station limits. Eyewitnesses stated that the tractor, which was heading towards Chatra, lost balance when its driver allegedly panicked and attempted a sharp turn after spotting a police vehicle approaching from the opposite direction. The manoeuvre, intended to avoid interception, ended in disaster as the tractor rammed into the motorcycle.
Impact and Aftermath
Khushboo fell from the motorcycle and was crushed under the tractor's wheels, resulting in her immediate death. The driver of the tractor managed to escape from the scene. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. Efforts are underway to trace the tractor driver, who fled after the accident. The illegal sand mining angle is also being probed, as the tractor was reportedly carrying sand extracted without authorization.
