A tragic road accident near Krishnagiri claimed the lives of a shipping worker and his sister early Monday morning. The incident occurred around 3 am on the Hosur-Krishnagiri National Highway near the Guruparapally flyover when a container truck collided with their minivan. Seven other individuals sustained serious injuries in the crash.

Victims and Family

The deceased have been identified as S Deepak, 28, and his sister V Divya, 30, both residents of Palakkad in Kerala. According to police, the family was traveling from Bengaluru to Kerala at the time of the accident. Deepak was driving the minivan, while Divya occupied the front passenger seat.

Details of the Collision

A police officer from Guruparapally station explained the sequence of events: "When the car was near the Guruparapally flyover, one of its tires got punctured. Deepak attempted to pull over to the roadside, but a container lorry coming from behind struck the rear of the car." The impact was severe, causing fatal head injuries to both Deepak and Divya, who died on the spot.

Injured Survivors

The other passengers in the minivan sustained injuries and were rescued by passersby. They include:

All injured were rushed to the Krishnagiri Government Medical College and Hospital, where their condition is reported to be stable.

Police Action

Guruparapally police recovered the bodies and sent them to the Krishnagiri Government Medical College and Hospital for postmortem examination. The vehicles involved were removed from the scene to clear traffic. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
