Rourkela: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 26-year-old man in Sundargarh district, Odisha, after his car caught fire following a collision with a divider late Sunday night. The deceased, identified as Ananda Bhoi, a resident of Giringkela village under Lephripada police station, succumbed to his burn injuries on Monday.

According to police reports, the accident occurred around midnight when Bhoi was driving at high speed towards the Government Medical College & Hospital in Sundargarh to visit his ailing mother. His vehicle lost control and hit the divider, causing the car to burst into flames. Bystanders alerted the authorities, and police personnel arrived at the scene promptly.

Rescue and Medical Response

Police rescued Bhoi from the burning car and immediately transported him to the Sundargarh district headquarters hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries the following day. The body was sent for an autopsy and later handed over to his family for the last rites.
