Motorcyclist Killed in Byndoor Truck Accident, Woman Pilgrim Dies

A tragic road accident occurred near Ganganadu in Byndoor on Wednesday, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist. The deceased has been identified as Mahabala Poojary, 51. According to police reports, the incident took place when a tipper truck, driven by Ramesh, attempted to overtake a motorcycle traveling in the same direction. The truck driver was allegedly driving in a rash and negligent manner, moving to the left and colliding with the motorcycle.

Due to the impact, Mahabala Poojary fell onto the road along with his motorcycle. The rear wheel of the tipper truck ran over his head, causing severe head injuries that led to his death on the spot. In connection with this incident, the Byndoor police have registered a case under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligent act) of the BNS.

Woman Pilgrim Dies En Route to Hospital After Falling Ill at Dharmasthala

In a separate incident, a woman from Haveri district died while being transported to a government hospital after complaining of chest pain during a pilgrimage to Dharmasthala. The deceased has been identified as Shaila.

According to a complaint filed by Saroja, a resident of Ranebennur in Haveri, she, along with her husband, her elder sister Shaila, and her grandson, traveled by bus from Bengaluru on the night of June 2. They arrived at Dharmasthala on June 3 for darshan. Around 12:30 pm, Shaila complained of chest pain and expressed feelings of weakness and exhaustion. She was immediately taken to the Dharmasthala Primary Health Centre for treatment. As doctors advised further medical care, she was shifted in an ambulance to the government hospital in Belthangady.

However, while en route to the hospital, Shaila died, reportedly due to a heart attack or some pre-existing illness. In connection with this, the Dharmasthala police have registered a case under Section 194 of the BNSS.
