A shooting at a Northern California high school shortly after a graduation ceremony on Wednesday evening left one person dead and three others injured, authorities said.

According to police, the incident occurred around 7:15 p.m. in the parking lot of Fairfield High School, where the Sem Yeto High School graduation had been held, as reported by KCRA 3 News. Fairfield police officer Michelle Belyea confirmed that one victim died from gunshot wounds, while the other three were transported to a hospital in unknown condition.
Suspect Information
No arrests have been made so far, and no information about suspects has been released. Belyea described the event as a very scary incident, especially occurring at the end of a school event, and emphasized the importance of everyone's safety.
Suisun City Mayor Alma Hernandez, in Solano County, reported an active shooter around 8 p.m. at Fairfield High School's Schafer Stadium.
Witness Accounts
A man who attended the ceremony said the shooting took place in the parking lot after the event ended while photographs were being taken. A father whose daughter attended the graduation recounted hearing gunshots and beginning to run.
Amanda Prieto, a nearby resident, said she first heard shots while on a call in her backyard. She described the rapid fire as alarming, noting that people were screaming and running through the parking lot, calling it horrific.

Fairfield Mayor Catherine Moy expressed condolences following the incident and stated that the shooter will face justice. The investigation is ongoing.
