Raghav Chadha launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Punjab minister Sanjeev Arora in a money laundering and GST fraud case. Chadha alleged that AAP had betrayed Punjab and accused the party of corruption and silencing internal dissent.
ED Action and Allegations
The ED raids are linked to an alleged ₹157-crore fake invoice and export fraud involving shell companies and suspicious fund transfers through UAE-based entities. The central agency's action has intensified political tensions in the state.
Chadha's Charges
Chadha, a prominent AAP leader, did not hold back in his criticism. He claimed that the party's leadership was complicit in corrupt practices and that the arrest of Sanjeev Arora was a clear indication of the rot within the party. 'Rangla to Kangla' was his phrase to describe the transformation of Punjab's fortunes under AAP rule.
The opposition parties have seized on the issue, demanding a thorough investigation and questioning the credibility of the AAP government. The ED's probe continues to uncover more details about the alleged fraud.
