In a tragic incident in Buxar, two brothers lost their lives when a speeding truck rammed into their motorcycle on Tuesday. The victims were on their way to invite relatives for their sister's upcoming wedding.
Accident Details
The accident occurred on the Ara-Buxar four-lane highway near Devkuli village under the Brahampur police station area. The deceased were identified as Ganesh Paswan (20) and Munna Paswan (22), sons of Brij Bihari Paswan, residents of Karnamepur (Lalu ka Dera) in Shahpur block of Bhojpur district. The brothers had left in the morning on their motorcycle heading towards Latthan village to invite relatives for the wedding scheduled for May 7.
Near Devkuli, a speeding truck collided with their motorcycle with such force that both died on the spot. Their bodies lay on the road for some time, bringing traffic on the busy highway to a standstill.
Police Response and Protests
Police from Brahampur police station reached the spot soon after receiving information. A large number of locals had gathered at the scene. The police pacified the crowd, cleared the road, and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. The incident triggered anger among villagers, who blocked the highway and disrupted traffic. Locals alleged poor traffic management on NH-922, saying long queues of trucks and unchecked movement of heavy vehicles frequently lead to such accidents. Later, Brahampur BDO Sonu Kumar and police officials pacified the protesters.
Family Devastated
The news of the accident left the family devastated. Relatives rushed to the spot as cries of grief filled the air. A house that had been preparing for wedding celebrations was suddenly plunged into mourning. The "tilak" ceremony was to be held on May 3, followed by "haldi" on May 6. Preparations were in full swing when the tragedy struck, wiping out all happiness in a moment.
Investigation
Dumraon SDPO Polast Kumar said police were probing the case and conducting raids to arrest the absconding driver.
