Two soldiers were killed in an accidental blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kamalkote area of Uri sector, Baramulla district, on Wednesday. The incident occurred while the personnel were reportedly attempting to disarm a grenade, according to sources.

Officials confirmed that the explosion took place in the Kamalkote region along the LoC, leaving two soldiers critically injured. A senior official stated that the blast was accidental in nature. Immediately after the incident, the injured soldiers were evacuated from the site and rushed to the Army's 92 Base Hospital at Badamibagh in Srinagar for medical treatment. Despite the efforts of medical staff, both soldiers succumbed to their injuries due to the severity of the wounds.
