US Launches Additional Strikes on Iran Citing Aggression

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Wednesday that its forces have initiated additional self-defense strikes against multiple targets in Iran, responding to what it described as continued and unwarranted Iranian aggression.

Strikes in Response to Iranian Aggression

In a post on X, CENTCOM stated, "U.S. Central Command forces began launching additional self-defence strikes today at 5:15 p.m. ET against multiple targets in Iran at the Commander in Chief's direction. The strikes are in response to Iran's unwarranted and continued aggression."

Iran on High Alert

According to Al Jazeera, Iran's Red Crescent has placed all emergency operations centers across the country on full alert. Reports of explosions have emerged in multiple Iranian cities, including the port city of Bandar Abbas, where blasts were linked to an incident in the eastern part of the city. Additional explosions were reported in Sirik, Minab, Qeshm Island, and the northern city of Gorgan.

Air defense systems were activated in western Tehran, and an explosion heard in Fars province was attributed to the activation of air defense systems outside the city. The situation remains fluid, with emergency response agencies on high alert.

Alleged Iranian Missile Strike

According to Press TV, Iraqi media reports claim that Iran launched a missile strike targeting the US Al-Harir air base in Erbil, allegedly destroying a US radar system in Iraq's Kurdistan region.

Trump's Remarks

President Donald Trump stated that the United States would resume attacks on Iran, expressing frustration over Tehran's delays in concluding a deal. Speaking in the Oval Office, Trump said, "We're going to be attacking them, attacking them very hard." He suggested that Iran's downing of a US Apache helicopter provided grounds for renewed military action.
