A student from Telangana has been found dead in London after attending a birthday party. The family has appealed to the Indian government for assistance in repatriating the body. Local police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
Details of the Incident
The deceased, identified as 23-year-old K. Sathish from Warangal district, was pursuing a master's degree in the UK. He had attended a birthday party on June 25, 2026, and was later found unresponsive at his residence in London. His roommates alerted authorities, who declared him dead on arrival at the hospital.
According to sources, Sathish had complained of feeling unwell after the party. No signs of foul play have been reported, but a post-mortem examination is awaited to determine the exact cause of death.
Family's Appeal for Help
Sathish's father, K. Ramesh, a farmer, has urged the Indian government to intervene. "We are devastated. We want his body brought back as soon as possible," he said. The family has contacted the Indian High Commission in London and the Telangana state government for support.
Telangana's Minister for NRI Affairs, K.T. Rama Rao, expressed condolences and assured assistance. "We are coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs to facilitate the return of the mortal remains," he stated.
Investigation Underway
The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation but have not yet classified the death as suspicious. A spokesperson said, "We are awaiting toxicology and pathology reports. Our thoughts are with the family."
The incident has raised concerns among the Indian student community in the UK, with many calling for better mental health support and safety measures.
