Fire Breaks Out at Takinogawa No. 3 Elementary School

The Tokyo fire department stated that the blaze at Takinogawa No. 3 Elementary School began near a music room on the top floor of the four-story building late Friday morning.

Firefighters rescued one teacher and several schoolchildren from the building, all of whom sustained non-life-threatening injuries, the department confirmed.

Response and Evacuation

Television footage captured black smoke billowing from windows on the fourth floor as firefighters battled the flames. Dozens of fire engines were deployed to the scene.

Officials reported that all other individuals inside the building at the time of the fire evacuated independently to a nearby park, ensuring no one was left behind.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
