UAE Announces $10 Million Emergency Aid for Venezuela Earthquake Victims
Under the directives of President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates has pledged US$10 million in urgent humanitarian aid for victims of two earthquakes that struck off the northern coast near Moron, Venezuela. The funding will be channeled through the UAE Aid Agency to accelerate early recovery and provide essential supplies.
Scope of Relief Efforts
The aid package aims to deliver food supplies, medical items, and shelter equipment to affected communities. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, stated that the initiative reflects the UAE's leading global humanitarian role and its commitment to assisting disaster-stricken populations.
Al Ameri emphasized that the response stems from the humanitarian legacy of the late Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and is guided by President Mohamed bin Zayed's vision. He noted that survivors face severe conditions requiring immediate assistance.
Coordination with Venezuelan Authorities
The UAE Aid Agency is working with Venezuelan authorities and international organizations to ensure swift delivery of aid. The relief includes food, medical assistance, and shelter equipment to meet urgent needs and mitigate the earthquakes' devastating impact.
