Indian Naval Sail Training Ship (INS) Sudarshini arrived in New York Harbour on July 4, 2026, to represent India at the United States International Naval Review 250 and the Sail 4th 250 celebrations. The three-masted barque, flying the Indian Tricolour, participated in the Parade of Sail along the Hudson River, marking a significant moment in the bilateral maritime relationship.

Participation in Sail 250 Events

According to an official release, the visit is part of INS Sudarshini's 10-month transoceanic expedition, Lokayan 2026. This expedition underscores the Indian Navy's commitment to strengthening maritime cooperation, fostering international goodwill, and deepening engagement with partner navies. Prior to New York, INS Sudarshini successfully participated in the SAIL 250 events at Norfolk and Baltimore. The ship berthed at Brooklyn for the Sail 4th 250 celebrations, which commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States' independence.
