The event, held over four days, witnessed Minaj joining the organisation's new leader, Erika Kirk, for a candid question-and-answer session that captivated conservative activists and media.
A Surprise Stage Appearance and Political Endorsements
Nicki Minaj took the stage at the AmericaFest conference on Sunday, after days of speculation about her attendance. She was introduced by Erika Kirk, who assumed the roles of chairwoman and CEO of Turning Point USA earlier this year following the tragic death of her husband, Charlie Kirk. Expressing her honour at being present, Minaj used the platform to voice strong support for key Republican figures.
During the wide-ranging discussion, Minaj spoke positively about both former President Donald Trump and current Vice President JD Vance. She described them as leaders possessing an "uncanny" ability to relate to ordinary Americans. "I love both of them," Minaj stated, marking a significant and notable shift in her public political stance. She emphasised that the administration is filled with people of "heart and soul" who make her proud.
Addressing Backlash and Global Issues
Erika Kirk thanked the rapper for her "courage" in facing potential backlash from the entertainment industry for supporting Trump. Minaj responded dismissively, saying, "I didn't notice. We don't even think about them." She aligned herself with the conservative gathering, quipping, "We're the cool kids."
This appearance aligns with Minaj's recent activities showing increased support for conservative causes. Notably, on 1 November, she amplified a post from Trump's Truth Social platform concerning the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. Sharing a screenshot, she expressed deep gratitude for religious freedom in America and wrote, "No group should ever be persecuted for practising their religion." She has previously called for protections for Christians in Nigeria at a UN event.
Erika Kirk's Leadership and the Event's Significance
The AmericaFest conference also served as a platform for Erika Kirk to solidify her leadership. She took over Turning Point USA after her husband, Charlie Kirk, was fatally shot on 10 September 2025 while speaking at Utah Valley University. A suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was charged with aggravated murder. Erika has vowed to continue her husband's mission, emphasising coalition-building and peace.
During the conference, she also publicly endorsed Vice President JD Vance for the 2028 United States presidential election, highlighting his close ties to the Kirk family and the conservative movement.
