CMIA Organizes Special Session to Decode Union Budget 2026-27 for Marathwada Industries

The Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) took a proactive step on Tuesday by organizing a comprehensive guidance session titled 'Decoding Union Budget'. This event was specifically designed to assist the industrial community in understanding the detailed policy thrust, key reforms, and practical implications of the recently announced Union Budget for the fiscal year 2026-27.

Expert Insights on Budget Vision and Opportunities

Umesh Sharma, a central council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), served as the keynote speaker. He elaborated that the overarching vision behind the budget is aligned with the 'Viksit Bharat' initiative. Sharma outlined several critical components, including increased capital expenditure, strategic fiscal deficit management, robust infrastructure development, a strong impetus to the manufacturing sector, and significant investments in human capital development.

"The higher allocation for capital expenditure is poised to unlock numerous opportunities for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within large-scale infrastructure projects," Sharma stated. "Concurrently, the government's commitment to fiscal discipline is expected to contribute to maintaining stability in interest rates, which is crucial for long-term business planning and investment."

Key Initiatives and Regional Growth Prospects

Sharma also highlighted the 'Corporate Mitra' initiative, a significant reform aimed at enabling industries located in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. This program is designed to provide them with easier and more affordable access to essential compliance services, thereby reducing operational hurdles and fostering a more business-friendly environment.

The session placed a particular emphasis on identifying and leveraging region-specific opportunities for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and the broader Marathwada region. Mihir Saundalgekar, the Secretary of CMIA, detailed the promising sectors highlighted by the budget.

"Strategic investments are being channeled into key development nodes such as Auric, Shendra, and Bidkin," Saundalgekar explained. "Furthermore, the budget provides substantial impetus to the automobile and electric vehicle (EV) sectors, agro-processing industries, logistics networks, and tourism, particularly focusing on world heritage sites like the Ajanta and Ellora Caves. The promotion of data centers and emerging technologies is also a focal point, expected to steer the entire Marathwada region toward a high-value, innovation-driven economic model."

Industry Leadership in Attendance

The important session witnessed the participation of several prominent industry leaders. Notable attendees included former CMIA president Gautam Nandavat, treasurer Saurabh Challani, and managing committee members Rasdeep Singh Chawla and Aniket Patil. Their presence underscored the collective interest and commitment of the local business community in understanding and capitalizing on the national budgetary directives for regional economic advancement.
