Hisar: Fatehabad police have initiated action against the assets of three alleged habitual drug traffickers, freezing properties worth over Rs 62.2 lakh as part of an anti-narcotics drive. Officials said the present market value of the attached assets is estimated to be around Rs 80 lakh.
Financial Investigations Under NDPS Act
Additional superintendent of police Divyanshi Singla said the action was taken following financial investigations into the accused under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Officials added that assets linked to 33 alleged drug traffickers have so far been brought under legal scrutiny in separate cases.
First Case: Residential House Frozen
In the first case, a residential house worth around Rs 60 lakh belonging to Akash alias Rinku of Bhuna was frozen after investigators reportedly found assets disproportionate to his known income. Police said the accused previously faced NDPS cases in 2019, 2021 and 2022.
Separate Actions Against Other Accused
In separate actions, police froze a car valued at approximately Rs 1.5 lakh linked to Deepak Kumar alias Deepu and a TVS Raider motorcycle worth about Rs 70,000 belonging to Atul alias Ashu. Police said the assets were frozen after financial profiling and approval from the competent authority under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act. The properties cannot now be sold or transferred without permission from the concerned authority.
