Godrej Agrovet to Build Rs 300 Cr Oil Palm Complex in Telangana

Godrej Agrovet will establish Telangana's first private integrated oil palm industry complex in Khammam district with an investment of Rs 300 crore, the state government announced on July 8, 2026. The project is expected to generate employment for over 700 local residents.

According to a release from the Telangana Chief Minister's Office, representatives of Godrej Industries Group met Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and submitted a report on the expansion of oil palm cultivation in the district. Rakesh Swami, President (Corporate Affairs) of Godrej Industries Group, and Sougata Niyogi, CEO of Godrej Agrovet's Oil Palm Business, briefed the CM on the project coming up at Gubbagurthi village in Konijerla mandal.

Project Details and Land Allocation

The state government has already allocated 113.5 acres of land to Godrej Agrovet for the integrated complex, which will include a processing unit, nursery, research and development center, and a seed garden. During the meeting, the company requested an additional 35 to 40 acres for the seed garden, the release stated.

The integrated complex is part of Telangana's push to expand oil palm cultivation and build local processing capacity. The state aims to promote oil palm as an alternative crop and reduce dependence on imported edible oil.

Infrastructure Support

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy instructed officials to widen the roads leading to the processing unit under the supervision of the Telangana Government Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC). The road connectivity work will ensure smooth movement to the Gubbagurthi facility once operations begin, according to the release.

This investment marks a significant step in Telangana's agricultural diversification strategy, with the private sector playing a key role in developing the oil palm value chain. The project is expected to boost local employment and income for farmers engaged in oil palm cultivation.
