The Rector announced that five students excelling in sports, particularly cricket, football, chess, and other disciplines, will be awarded scholarships at Mari State University. The Rector also announced that Mari State University will host its inaugural Global Alumni Meet in 2027. The event will unite graduates from across the globe, offering them the opportunity to reconnect with their alma mater, strengthen professional networks, and celebrate the university's expanding global alumni community. It is expected to be among the first large-scale international alumni gatherings organised by a Russian medical university.
