UK Accounting Firm GI Outsourcing Launches AI-First Global Capability Center in Hyderabad

In a significant development for India's business process outsourcing sector, UK-based accounting services provider GI Outsourcing has inaugurated its new AI-first Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad. The facility has been established through a strategic partnership with Enablr, the GCC enablement company under the Covasant group.

Strategic Expansion of India Operations

The Hyderabad GCC represents a major expansion of GI Outsourcing's presence in India, complementing the company's existing delivery centers in Mumbai, Delhi, and Ahmedabad. According to company officials, this new facility has been specifically designed as a strategic delivery hub that will leverage Hyderabad's rich pool of finance and accounting talent to serve the firm's international client base across the UK and global markets.

Employment Growth and Operational Scale

The center has commenced operations with an initial workforce of 50 employees, with plans for substantial expansion in the coming years:

  • The facility is expected to reach 100 employees within the first 12 months of operation
  • By 2028, the company plans to add another 100 roles, bringing the total workforce to 200 employees
  • The GCC will function as an AI-first center, incorporating advanced technologies into accounting and financial services delivery

Leadership Perspectives on the Initiative

Tariq Husain, Group CEO of GI Outsourcing, emphasized the strategic importance of this move, stating that it "reflects India's central role in our long-term operating model." He credited Enablr with facilitating rapid establishment of operations while effectively managing compliance and risk considerations.

Siddharth Viswanathan, head of inward investment (South India) at the British Deputy High Commission, highlighted the broader significance of this development, describing the GCC opening as "a marker of UK-India economic collaboration and investment in talent and innovation."

Partnership Dynamics and Operational Excellence

C V Subramanyam, chairman and managing director of Covasant and Enablr, explained the partnership's objectives, noting that the collaboration is specifically aimed at delivering speed-to-market without sacrificing quality or compliance. This approach reflects the growing sophistication of GCC operations in India, where international firms increasingly seek to combine rapid deployment with rigorous standards.

The establishment of this AI-first GCC in Hyderabad underscores the city's growing prominence as a destination for specialized global capability centers, particularly in finance, accounting, and technology-enabled services. The move also demonstrates the continued strength of UK-India economic ties in the professional services sector, with Hyderabad emerging as a key hub for such collaborations.
