Carrier Air Conditioning Announces Major Investment in Andhra Pradesh Manufacturing Hub
In a significant development for Andhra Pradesh's industrial landscape, Carrier Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Ltd has formalized a lease agreement with Sri City to establish a new manufacturing facility dedicated to sustainable cooling systems. The deal represents a major boost for the state's technology-driven manufacturing sector.

The lease deed was officially exchanged between Carrier India Managing Director Sundaresan Narayanan and Sri City Managing Director Ravindra Sannareddy during a ceremony presided over by Tirupati district collector S Venkateswar. The presence of state officials underscored the importance of this industrial partnership.
Project Details and Economic Impact
The new manufacturing plant will be constructed on 39 acres of land within Sri City, with Carrier planning to invest approximately ₹1,000 crore in the project. According to official estimates, the facility is expected to generate 1,000 direct employment opportunities and an additional 2,000 indirect jobs, totaling approximately 3,000 positions.
District collector Venkateswar emphasized the state government's commitment to enhancing the ease of doing business and accelerating project delivery timelines. He highlighted Sri City's growing prominence as a major hub for the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) sector, noting that the industrial park already hosts every major company in the field and produces more than 50% of India's air conditioners.
Government Support and Strategic Importance
Minister for ITEC and HRD Nara Lokesh described the investment as a strong endorsement of Andhra Pradesh's project facilitation measures. He revealed that Carrier progressed from its initial site visit to land handover and finalization within an impressive eight-month period, demonstrating the state's efficient approval processes.
"This 39-acre facility at Sri City will create over 3,000 jobs and position Andhra Pradesh as a leading air-conditioning manufacturing hub," Lokesh stated during the ceremony.
Manufacturing Focus and Market Strategy
The new facility will incorporate green manufacturing processes and focus on producing energy-efficient commercial cooling solutions for both domestic and export markets. Carrier India Managing Director Sundaresan Narayanan explained that the plant would address growing demand for sustainable cooling technologies while generating substantial employment opportunities.
Sri City Managing Director Ravindra Sannareddy noted that the investment would further strengthen the industrial park's position as India's premier HVAC manufacturing hub, building on its existing infrastructure and industry concentration.
