GGL Reduces CNG & PNG Prices for Republic Day in UP

Green Gas Limited Announces Republic Day Price Reduction for CNG and PNG in Uttar Pradesh

In a significant move aimed at providing Republic Day benefits to consumers, Green Gas Limited (GGL) has officially declared a reduction in the prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Domestic Piped Natural Gas (PNG). This price cut is set to positively impact residents across multiple cities in Uttar Pradesh, offering both economic relief and an incentive to adopt cleaner fuel alternatives.

Revised CNG and PNG Rates Effective from January 26

The new pricing structure comes into effect from Monday, January 26, aligning with the Republic Day celebrations. According to the announcement, CNG prices have been reduced by ₹0.25 per kilogram in all operational cities under GGL's network. Specifically, the revised CNG price will be ₹95.75 per kg in Lucknow and Agra, while consumers in Unnao, Ayodhya, and Sultanpur will benefit from a rate of ₹94 per kg.

Similarly, domestic PNG prices have seen a more substantial decrease, with a reduction of ₹0.50 per standard cubic metre (SCM). This adjustment translates to direct savings for households, with PNG now priced at ₹56.50 per SCM in Lucknow and Agra, ₹56 per SCM in Unnao, and ₹57.50 per SCM in Ayodhya and Sultanpur.

Impact on Consumers and Environmental Benefits

The price reduction is expected to ease the financial burden on families, particularly in the current economic climate. Praveen Singh, DGM (Marketing) and GA Head for Ayodhya and Sultanpur, emphasized that this initiative is not merely a cost-saving measure but also a strategic step towards promoting eco-friendly fuel options. He stated, "This price cut will not only help reduce household expenses but will also encourage wider adoption of sustainable and environmentally friendly fuel alternatives, contributing to a greener future."

By making CNG and PNG more affordable, GGL aims to accelerate the shift away from traditional, more polluting fuels, aligning with broader environmental goals and government initiatives for cleaner energy. The move is particularly timely, as it coincides with Republic Day, symbolizing a commitment to public welfare and national progress.

Geographical Coverage and Consumer Response

The revised rates will benefit consumers in five key cities: Lucknow, Agra, Unnao, Ayodhya, and Sultanpur. This widespread coverage ensures that a large segment of the population in Uttar Pradesh can avail of the reduced prices, potentially leading to increased usage and awareness of natural gas as a viable energy source.

Industry experts suggest that such price reductions could stimulate demand in the domestic and automotive sectors, further solidifying natural gas's role in India's energy mix. Consumers have welcomed the announcement, anticipating lower monthly bills and a positive step towards sustainable living.
