A Proud Moment for Maharashtra's Industrial Landscape
In a detailed post on social media platform X, Fadnavis described this achievement as a significant source of pride for the entire state of Maharashtra. He emphasized that this development serves as concrete evidence of Nashik's growing reputation and capability as a premier automobile manufacturing center within India.
The Chief Minister stated that this export milestone further solidifies Maharashtra's position as the nation's foremost destination for major industrial investments and export-focused manufacturing operations. He specifically highlighted how this order enhances the state's competitive edge in the global industrial arena.
Official Announcement and Production Details
Fadnavis's recognition followed an official announcement from Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO of Mahindra's Auto and Farm Sector. Jejurikar confirmed that all 35,000 vehicles will be manufactured at the Nashik plant, with deliveries scheduled to continue through 2026.
Jejurikar characterized this achievement as a pivotal "Make in India for the World" moment, acknowledging the consistent support from the Maharashtra government that has facilitated Mahindra's international expansion initiatives.
Nashik's Manufacturing Legacy and Economic Impact
Mahindra's primary automobile facility in Nashik, situated in the Satpur MIDC industrial area, has served as one of the company's crucial manufacturing hubs for several decades. This plant produces an extensive range of multi-utility vehicles and has been integral to Mahindra's production network.
Local industry representatives have enthusiastically welcomed this development. Ashish Nahar, President of the Nashik Industries and Manufacturers' Association, explained that this substantial export order will provide a considerable boost to the region's entire industrial ecosystem.
Nahar further noted that vendors and ancillary units connected to Mahindra's supply chain are anticipated to experience increased demand as production for this export program accelerates throughout the coming years.
The successful execution of this order represents not just a corporate achievement for Mahindra, but a validation of Nashik's manufacturing capabilities and Maharashtra's supportive industrial policies that enable global competitiveness.
