Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift Spotted Undisguised, Revealing Key Design Changes

Maruti Suzuki India is gearing up to introduce the new and updated version of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza subcompact SUV in the Indian market. After being seen multiple times during road tests with heavy camouflage, the SUV has now been spotted completely undisguised for the first time, offering a clear view of its exterior design updates.

Exterior Design Overhaul

The second-generation Brezza, which debuted in 2022, is set for a significant mid-lifecycle update. According to recent spy images, the front of the updated SUV replaces previous black detailing with chrome highlights, creating a noticeably different appearance. Unlike the existing model, where black cladding connects the fog lamp area to the air intake section, the 2026 model features a distinct fog lamp enclosure with no connecting cladding between it and the air intakes.

Additional exterior updates include dual-tone ORVMs and a chrome strip running along the side body cladding, adding a fresh visual element to the profile. The SUV also sports newly designed 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, it is expected to receive a redesigned tailgate and LED tail lamps, though connected tail lamps—a feature increasingly common in new models—are not anticipated to be part of this update.

Interior and Feature Upgrades

Inside, the overall interior layout will remain largely unchanged, but minor tweaks are expected, such as a redesigned console and new upholstery. Spy images suggest that the facelifted model will feature a larger touchscreen infotainment system. Other anticipated features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, wireless charging, a premium sound system, a heads-up display, cruise control, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, a single-pane electric sunroof, and ventilated front seats.

Mechanical and Performance Expectations

Mechanically, the Brezza is expected to undergo minor suspension tuning for improved comfort and handling. A recent spy shot revealed the new Brezza with a 6-speed manual gearbox, indicating potential enhancements in gear ratios for easier highway driving and possibly better fuel efficiency. However, this does not confirm a brand-new engine, such as a turbo-petrol option.

There is speculation that the SUV could receive the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine currently available in the Fronx, but no official confirmation has been provided. The facelift is likely to continue with the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 103 PS of power and 137 Nm of torque. Alongside the expected 6-speed manual, the 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission is anticipated to remain available. CNG variants of the Brezza are also expected to feature an underbody CNG tank, similar to the setup seen in the Victoris.
