Nagpur Emerges as Investment Hub with ₹10,880 Crore Deals at Advantage Vidarbha Summit

The second day of the Advantage Vidarbha–Khasdar Audyogik Mahotsav witnessed a significant economic boost for Nagpur, with three major investment agreements totaling ₹10,880 crore being formalized. These deals position the city at the forefront of clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and urban healthcare development in Maharashtra.

Galaxy Solar Energy Leads with Massive ₹10,080 Crore Solar and Battery Plant

The largest commitment came from Galaxy Solar Energy Private Limited, which signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government to invest ₹10,080 crore in an Integrated Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Manufacturing Plant in Nagpur district. This facility will manufacture solar cells and battery storage systems, significantly enhancing the region's role in renewable energy supply chains and supporting India's clean energy transition.

GR Infraprojects to Establish ₹200 Crore Telecom Tower Manufacturing Unit

A second MoU was inked with GR Infraprojects Limited, which pledged ₹200 crore to set up a telecom tower manufacturing plant in Nagpur. This investment is expected to bolster local manufacturing capabilities and contribute to the expansion of telecommunications infrastructure in the region.

Care Group to Develop 350+ Bed Multi-Speciality Hospital Near Metro Station

The third and most urban-centric project involves Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MahaMetro) issuing a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) to Quality Care India Limited, known as the Care Group of Hospitals. This public-private partnership will establish a 350+ bed multi-speciality hospital near Kasturchand Park Metro Station, with over ₹600 crore in private investment. According to chief minister's economic adviser Kaustubh Dhavse, ₹131 crore is allocated for infrastructure and ₹500 crore for hospital development.

The LOA was formally handed over by MahaMetro managing director Shravan Hardikar to Care Group CEO Pawan Kumar in the presence of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union minister Nitin Gadkari. MahaMetro director (strategic planning) Anilkumar Kokate and other officials were also present at the ceremony.

Projects to Generate Over 6,000 Jobs and Boost Regional Economy

Union minister Nitin Gadkari expressed gratitude to industry partners and Chief Minister Fadnavis for enabling these landmark partnerships. He emphasized that the projects would create over 6,000 employment opportunities, accelerate infrastructure expansion, and strengthen regional supply chains. Gadkari highlighted that these initiatives advance clean energy leadership, advanced manufacturing, and world-class urban healthcare in Vidarbha.

The Care hospital will be constructed on a 7,202 square metre MahaMetro land parcel, with a development potential exceeding 3.5 lakh square feet. Since foundation and parking infrastructure are already in place, construction is anticipated to be completed within three years. This project alone is estimated to generate 1,500 to 1,800 direct jobs and represents a key component of MahaMetro's non-fare box revenue strategy.
