Noida Metro Seeks Bids for Commercial Outlets at Sector 83 Station

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has officially launched a tender process for establishing kiosks and commercial outlets at the Sector 83 metro station. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance commuter amenities and significantly boost non-fare revenue streams for the metro system.

Available Space and Pricing Details

According to the tender document released by NMRC, a substantial total area of 2,985 square meters is available for commercial development at the station. Specifically, 610 square meters is located on the first floor, while 845 square meters and 1,530 square meters are accessible at the platform level. The minimum reserve price has been set at Rs 205 per square meter, providing a clear benchmark for potential bidders.

Enhancing Commuter Convenience and Revenue

Officials from NMRC have emphasized that this move aims to create a one-stop solution for commuters by integrating essential services directly within the station premises. An NMRC official stated, The idea is to improve passenger convenience while also generating additional revenue beyond ticket fares. The proposed commercial areas will feature dual access points, allowing independent entry without requiring access to the paid concourse area, and they will remain fully accessible to passengers arriving by train.

This model is expected to particularly benefit daily office-goers and regular commuters who rely on the metro for last-mile connectivity, offering them easy access to shopping and services during their transit.

Current Metro Operations and Future Developments

Currently, the Aqua Line connects Noida Sector 51 to Depot Station in Greater Noida, with an average daily ridership of approximately 63,079 passengers, based on data from January 2026. In related developments, a skywalk connecting Sector 51 and Sector 52 stations is anticipated to open to the public within the next month. Additionally, on Saturday, the Union Cabinet approved an extension of the Aqua Line from Botanical Garden to Noida Sector 142, covering a distance of 11.56 kilometers.

This expansion and the new commercial initiatives underscore NMRC's commitment to improving urban mobility and passenger experience in the Noida region.
