Uttar Pradesh Advances Mega Textile Park Under PM MITRA Scheme to Strengthen Industrial Hub
Lucknow is witnessing significant progress in the development of a mega integrated textile park, as Uttar Pradesh moves to solidify its status as a major textile hub under the Central Government's PM MITRA scheme. Work is currently underway on this ambitious project, which spans approximately 1,000 acres and involves an investment of about Rs 990 crore. Officials report that the project is advancing at a steady pace, underscoring the state's concerted effort to attract large-scale industrial investments and boost economic growth.
Integrated Ecosystem to Reduce Costs and Enhance Efficiency
The PM MITRA park is designed to create a comprehensive textile ecosystem that aims to significantly reduce logistics and production costs while improving the overall efficiency of textile units. By integrating various stages of textile manufacturing, the park is expected to streamline operations and foster innovation within the industry. This initiative is part of a broader national strategy, with seven such parks planned across the country, and the Lucknow facility is poised to become a key node in this expanding network.
Strong Investor Interest and Employment Opportunities
Officials have highlighted that the project is generating robust investor interest, with proposals worth over Rs 63,000 crore received for the seven PM MITRA parks nationwide. This reflects confidence in the scheme's potential to transform the textile sector. A major anticipated outcome of the park is substantial employment generation, with each PM MITRA park projected to create up to three lakh direct and indirect jobs. This will provide a significant boost to the local economy and support livelihoods in the region.
World-Class Infrastructure Support
The state government is focusing on providing world-class infrastructure to ensure the success of the textile park. Key amenities include:
- Road Connectivity: Enhanced access to facilitate smooth transportation of goods and materials.
- Reliable Power Supply: Ensuring uninterrupted electricity to support continuous manufacturing processes.
- Water Facilities: Adequate water resources for textile production and other industrial needs.
- Logistics Support: Comprehensive logistics infrastructure to optimize supply chain management.
This infrastructure development is crucial for attracting and sustaining industrial investments, positioning Uttar Pradesh as a competitive player in the global textile market.
